PM Modi Unveils ₹17,900 Crore Development Projects in Andhra Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bhogapuram International Airport and launched development projects worth ₹17,900 crore in Andhra Pradesh on August 1. The projects aim to position the state as a technology and manufacturing hub. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, which is expected to contribute to the creation of a broader technology ecosystem. The Bhogapuram airport will serve as a growth engine for North Andhra, improving connectivity and supporting economic development. The Centre is also implementing an integrated infrastructure strategy to strengthen Andhra Pradesh's connectivity through ports, highways, railways, and airports. The Prime Minister highlighted the government's vision of developing the state's coastline into a Coastal Economic Corridor and the rapid expansion of highway infrastructure. He also outlined the government's broader strategy of building an ecosystem around advanced manufacturing, citing developments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centres.
